“At first we weren’t sure this was very “manly” (see PHOTOS, below)It has been amazing to see the race times coming down as our age increases!!….The four of us have not added yoga as a “fad” workout, instead it is for a lifetime…..We started running together at White Rock Lake every weekend which eventually led to road races and marathons.

Testimonial from: Doug Crosby, Mark Denny, Jim Watson, Bill Wells. The four of us grew up in Richardson, all graduating around the same time. Three of the four of us went into the practice of dentistry (the other is in commercial real estate). We have been running and exercising together for many years.

Looking for an “adventure”, we started running long distances in exotic places: the Inca Trail in Peru; Patagonia, Chile; volcanoes in Guatemala; Mount St. Helens; Costa Rica; Grand Canyon, etc. The first pictures are photos of yoga poses in Zion National Park — running The Narrows.

In Patagonia (Southern Chile), we’re along a series of waterfalls at the base of a volcano. We had to bike 40 miles to get there, however, had plenty of energy to break out into a full yoga routine.

At the time we were putting a lot of cardio time into our exercise program with an occasional weight lifting session. Stretching was an afterthought that usually involved 30 seconds of touching your toes (or knees as it was back then). As the miles were accumulating so were the injuries.

We were referred to Dynamic Power Yoga PLUS! by a friend. At first we weren’t sure this was very “manly”. We were running and lifting weights and thought that was the proper workout. We decided that we would try yoga as a “team”. It was “all in” or “all out” at that point.

It didn’t take long before the effects were felt. We have been religious about our yoga practice for over 3 years now. The benefits of core strength, balance, posture, and flexibility have helped with our running and cycling. It has been amazing to see the race times coming down as our age increases!!

One thing that has been an unexpected benefit is the emotional difference yoga has made. Our group has had to deal with back pain, knee problems, surgeries, etc. through our sports; however, through the recovery from these problems, yoga has been as effective in healing as any medical therapy. After surgery there is as great an emotional let down as there is physical. The first real exercise after surgery was yoga. The benefits to healing were immediate. There was an uplifting of spirit and clarity of thought after the first workout. It was like an awakening that allowed for a quicker return to work and activities.

The four of us have not added yoga as a “fad” workout, instead it is for a lifetime. This has been written as a group testimonial, however, each of us has had our own unique personal experience with Suze’s studio. The values of health, well being, balance, and being more in tune with your body is a constant. Thanks Suze for a life changing experience!!
